She is a native of St. Louis who began her career in 2019 at KTVI/KPLR as an intern. In February 2020, Mikala was later hired as a reporter. In March 2022, she decided to focus on preparation for the Miss Missouri USA 2022 Pageant.
Other than being a journalist, she is also a professional basketballer. Throughout her entire collegiate career, she played Division I basketball and won an A-Sun Conference championship with the Eagles. Furthermore, Mikala took part in the 2016-2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament.
She was voted in as the St. Louis Cardinals Female Athlete of the Year for two consecutive years. Mikala earned first-team all-state and also all-metro honors in soccer and basketball. Moreover, she played professional basketball for the St. Louis Surge.
