Liverpool have held initial talks with Brighton for Chelsea target Moises Caicedo, talkSPORT understands.
The midfielder has been a long-standing target for the Blues and they have been working hard to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s attempts to sign him have so far been unsuccessful though, with Brighton eyeing around £100million for the Ecuadorian.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have seen three bids rejected, and could now be met with competition for his signature.
Liverpool have made steps towards a potential signing by holding opening discussions with Brighton.
However, they are yet to make a bid for the 21-year-old, who was also linked with Arsenal in January.

talkSPORT revealed in July that Liverpool would consider a move for Caicedo should they lose Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
Both players have now sealed moves to Saudi Arabia, with one of Brighton’s star players now on their radar for the new season.
It’s just the second time in less than 24 hours that Liverpool and Chelsea have been involved in a transfer battle.
Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia has been a key target at Anfield for much of the summer.

However, Chelsea have made a £48million bid which is nearer to the Saints’ £50million valuation than Liverpool, although it is expected to be rejected.
The two respective deals could make this Sunday’s meeting between the two sides a lot more interesting.
Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
Both clubs have a lot to prove after their respective poor previous campaigns and are clearly eyeing the same midfield targets.
