Chloe Burrows reveals what it’s REALLY like in the Love Island villa

Chloe Burrows opened up about her experience in the famous Love Island villa on Thursday as she revealed exactly what happens on the hit dating show.

The reality star, 27, who appeared on season seven of the ITV2 dating show in 2021, said the ‘build-up is insane’ as you isolate before entering the Majorca villa.

And she revealed a brutal secret about what really happens to Islanders that fly out to go on the show – revealing that they could get thrown off the show at any second.

Speaking to former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, 35, on her podcast The Secret To, she detailed how the singletons are all put on ‘hold’ before entering.

And producers remind them that they are not guaranteed a place on the show until they are actually in the villa, right up to the last second.

Wild! The reality star, 27, who appeared on season seven of the ITV2 dating show in 2021 (pictured), said you can get dropped from the show up until the final hour

She said: ‘The build-up is insane! So, they say to you, and I don’t know why they say it, but they remind you the whole time, “You’re not in the villa, until you’re in the villa”.

‘Even on the morning, they’re like, “You’re not in love Island yet”. Like it could all go wrong, and they could fly you home.

‘They don’t tell you. You have no clue what’s going on. And I’d heard a couple of people had their [suit]cases got taken and then got given back because they weren’t going in.

‘Some people had flown out for like six weeks and didn’t get in!’

The blonde bombshell went on to say pal Millie Court, who won the 2021 series with beau Liam Reardon, was put on hold longer than she was told because the ITV producers decide whether to put you in depending what is going on with the other islanders.

She continued: ‘I remember Millie got told she’d be going in the first few days, and she didn’t come in until the week after. So, she was in hold for about 4 weeks, I think.

‘They just wait and see when to drop you in based on what happens in the villa. So, if they don’t think you’re right, then you don’t get dropped and then you get sent home.

She said: 'The build-up is insane! So, they say to you, and I don't know why they say it, but they remind you the whole time, "You're not in the villa, until you're in the villa¿'

‘I think Luke [Mabbott] from the South Africa series, he flew out to South Africa, was in hold, and then they flew him back to England and flew back out again.’

Once Chloe got into the villa she said she was slightly ‘rattled’ by the other islanders and she soon had to learn to grow a ‘thick skin’.

She said: ‘When you’re in the villa, it’s dog-eat-dog in there! Oh my god! You have to be thick skinned. Like, you can’t go in there feeling a little bit sensitive.

‘I thought I was thick skinned, and it rattled me. But yeah, I was so concerned, like when do I ever talk about my feelings?

‘There’d be tension in the dressing room and it’s like treading on eggshells because you don’t know these people!’

Chloe didn’t have the smoothest of starts on the ITV2 show as she came in as a bombshell and in a shocking recoupling, chose to pair up with Aaron Francis leaving his former partner Shannon Singh immediate dumped from the villa.

The TV personality admitted she ‘struggled’ when she first entered and found the experience extremely ‘isolating’.

She said: ‘The first two weeks I really struggled. I just didn’t really gel. I had a couple of the girls but I came in and took someone’s man – it had been two hours, and someone got dumped! It is what it is! A game’s, a game!

‘But in the first couple of weeks, I really struggled with fitting in and gelling. Until Milly and Lucinda came in, I felt really, really isolated.

‘I wasn’t being true to myself, because I was so conscious about everything. I was on edge the whole time.

‘I’d never really felt anxious before, but I would say it was like a kind of anxiety. And then I got royally f****** mugged off into the next century, just before Casa Amor. I was like “I’m going home”.

Whilst she was off flirting with boys to try and get a connection on the series her family back home, who were running her social media were receiving several horrific ‘death threats’.

‘Love life it’s non-existent’: The blonde beauty said the split was ‘the worst thing she’s ever been through’ and thanked pal Millie for helping her get through the hard time

She explained: ‘Because my sister and my two friends ran my [Instagram] account. And actually, within the first week, they had to issue a statement with ITV and the police because I had so many death threats.

‘They’ve [online bullies] turned up at my Nana and Granddad’s house. Yeah, I didn’t see it. And I knew that would happen.

‘I’ve been trolled since being on other shows since and I’m like “Oh, it’s actually not that nice”.’

Chloe made it all the way to the final with then boyfriend Toby Aromolaran but earlier this year the pair revealed they have broken up.

The blonde beauty said the split was ‘the worst thing she’s ever been through’ and thanked pal Millie for helping her get through the hard time.

She said: ‘Yeah, it’s been a struggle. You know, I think a public breakup is the worst thing I’ve ever been through. I won’t lie.

‘So, that was a tough few months. But I’m in, a much better place. I now probably would give an ode to Millie. She dragged me through that breakup! She was like ‘You’re not feeling sad. You can live with me’.

‘So yeah, life’s good! Love life. Yeah, it’s non-existent. I’m not in the right place. It would be wrong for me for me to be with someone at the moment because I’m not there in the head, which is fine!’

With the new summer series of Love Island kicking off earlier this week, Chloe revealed she knows someone from the new cast.

She gushed: ‘I know someone! Tyreke is Toby’s bestest friend in the whole world. So, I know him a little bit. I wouldn’t say we’re best mates, but I do know him. And I think that the girls will absolutely fancy the pants off of him!’

Vicky Pattison: The Secret To is available to listen to on Acast and all major podcast platforms. New episodes are released every Thursday.
